Default DTC code P060D ETC Level 2 App Performance

Hey-

I have a 2007 Dodge Magnum SXT, 3.5 V6. I have this intermittent problem where the ETC and ESP BAS lamps illuminate. The engine goes into a derated mode and runs poorly until I pull over and cycle the key. This resets whatever is happening and it wont occur for the rest of the day. It only happens first thing in the morning and like I mentioned, very intermittently. I hooked up a Snap On scanner and got code P060D, ETC Level 2 App Performance. There are some usual things to check, connections and loose wires which I need to do.
I am wondering if this is common and what most likely will be the culprit here. I'm not sure if the PCM is flashed with the latest version, but I know there was a bulletin regarding that. Could a simple reflash cure this? My car just came out of the 3 year warranty, but its under 36K miles...what a drag! My local dealer is a last resort for me. I'm pretty well connected in my area being a 3rd generation monkey wrench turner.

Any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I know this motor is in other Dodge models, so I know it cant be limited to just the Magnum.

You'll either need a Flash update or a New PCM(under waranty). Looks like you'll need to pay a visit to the dealership.

I might have been mistaken as I originally thought the second light coming on in the dash was the ESP/BAS light, but this morning it happened again and the ETC and ESP/TCS lights illuminated. So do you still think the PCM is the issue here?

Is the update a cutomer pay and the PCM replacement (if needed) covered under something besides the 3/36??

Thanks

Nope, if it only needs an update, it will probably cost you $50-80 dollar.
If you need a New PCM, it is covered 8yr/80k emission waranty.

Well, thanks for all your help. Turns out the PCM was bad. The whole thing was covered under the 8/80. I have to say the car runs much better now. Didn't know how bad it really was until the PCM was replaced. Thanks again, I appreciate it.

Never repaired that code without a PCM swap. Yeah thats a T-body feedback failure. Just did one this week but it just happened to have a P0606 (Internal Processor) tagging along with it. This is not always the case though.
