Both my key fobs quit working the car goes to the dealer for some services, and recalls I guees i'll get them to fix the key fobs also, No clue why they quit,one of them did not work from the start and today at work went to lock the doors and nothing on this one also , no panic no lock no unlock etc..[sm=boosign.gif]

 

Did you happen for some reason disconnect the battery? Now days the remotes and car computer talk to each other.

 

I assume that you tried new batteries in the key fobs?

Thanks for the replies , the battery has not been disconnected, It could be that both key fob batteries went dead, the car was a demo has 5000 miles on it = an 05, but that seems short time for the batteries to go dead, I will know what the problem is Monday July 11th ,the car is scheduled to go to the service dept for some minor fixes, 3 recalls and serviced all free.

 

Hmm I've had mine since Aug 04. FOBs still going strong. Well I hope its something simple!

 

I bought my wife an SXT as a demo too with the same amount of miles. No problems at all. Could just be the transmitter within the fob. Good luck

If I remember correctly, there was a problem in Las Vegas where
there were quite a few keyless remotes that stopped working.

Turns out it was a radio repeater that was stuck "on"...

Car went to dealer they had to re- program the key fobs, they don't know how they became programed? I think it is when you accidentally push one of the buttons while key is in the ignition while starting?
The dealer also flashed the PCM to cure rough idle, did the radiator support bracket recall and rotated tires and oil change, also fixed was a flash of the ecm to keep headlights from coming on when using the key fob,
Mag goes Monday to Goodyear for front end alignment= pulls to the right prob, and one door post pillar cover replaced, had a dent in it.
My local dealer O,Brien automotive is a very good dealer to work with there service dept, has done everything I asked at (NO Charge )and No Hassle. I am Really impressed with these guys and my SXT.

 

I installed my trailer towing wire harness and disconnected the battery for about 15 mins and didnt have to do any resetting except clock and radio presets. Both my FOBs work fine after a year.

 

Just came from the wednesday Omaha car show. Talked to another owner, they said their FOB just stopped working a couple of weeks ago. They took it in and had the FOBs reprogrammed or the cars computer reprogrammed to the FOB. Problem fixed.
