Default Lowered & Jacking thought

I just did a tire rotation at the Air Force base auto hobby shop here in beautiful Omaha (haha). I used one of the frame lifts, and man it barely got under. Has anyone that lowered had to fix a flat yet? This kinda reminds me of something that happen to me in reverse. In Minot ND, I had a truck and I decided to lift it. Went to a friend who ran the local 4X4 shop, after a few beers, we started with a body lift. Then after a few more beers we decided to put on a 6inch kit. Plus with the 39" Swampers and the 6" KC Highlighters, we could not get the truck out of the shop hhahah. I wonder if anyone will get a surprise if they get a flat and cant get the jack under the car!

Well bout dang time, I is a Busch Series racer now hahaha

When I work on my Magnum RT, I do it in my garage and use one of two floor jacks. The car (stock) sits low as it is and I sometimes have trouble getting one of the floor jacks under the car, usually have to use the other floor jack to help lift the car, so as to use the other jack.

YES, one of the jacks has a lower height than the newer jack, which sits about 3/4 of an inch higher.

I am always scraping the front of the car on those parking stops, why would anyone want to lower their car more? I know it looks better, but not practical.

Bob

i ran into this with my cut springs, had to take off the rear bumper cover, gently lift the car from the steel bumper so that i could squeeze my floor jack under the lift point.

after struggling to get the car up on stands and even more difficult off the stands i decided to invest in airbags, works great, just hope i don't spring a leak anywhere

I have to drive on to a 2x4 with the front tires in order to get the floor jack under the frame.

356 - I built a TJ in my garage, 35 swampers, 2" body lift, 8" suspension lift. When it was done the top would not clear the garage header. I had to let air out of the tires to get it low enough.

Minot - my father in-law was a silo commander up there for a few years, then off to clear alaska and final stop norad in cs co.

this reminds me of a funny story. in my old car i blew out a tire on the freeway. ripped the tire off the rim. my car was lowered (mitsubishi eclipse) and with the tire off i couldnt fit a factory jack under the lift point. mind you this is one of those small jacks (the one you have to rotate, not pump) that sit about 3 inches high. luckily i had my school books in my car. i made a little ramp to drive up onto with my books in order to make enough clearance for the jack to get under.
so the moral of the story....school books are not useless. and if you're gonna lower your car, a couple of 2x4s would be a good idea to bring around with you.

We found some old steel rims and ran just the rim, no rubber, and leaned the lights back. It was all good until the rear diff cover caught on the edge of the garage floor to the gravel drive way. I wanted one of the chromie diff cover anyways ahahaha.
