My magnum r/t seems to spark knock everytime i step on it hard. I was wondering if anyone here has the same problem. I run the recommended 89 oct. and it doesnt seem to matter were i fill up from. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.

 

Have had my RT for a year now and it has 10,000 miles on it, never had any spark knock.

Seems like you have tried different brands of gas, have you tried using 92 or 93 octane to see if the knock goes away?

Might be time to call the service department and see what they say to do.

I agree with Bob(great name Bob,I am a Bob too) take it to the shop as the system is design to retard any kinds of knocks as long as the proper grade fuel is used.

 

I have an 05 RT as a demo, and I use 87 octane all the time. Never have I heard it ping. Hell, with my g-timer attached it still ran a 14.25 @ 98.9mph on 87!!
