Default ? for undropped.

I was wondering if the air suspension can be made alot simplier. Just the bags, and manually airing them up to the desired ride height. What kind of PSI does the compressor system put out? Back in the olden days, had a JC Whitney airshock and onboard compressor for the 49 chevy truck I had. Of course it took about 3 min to air up from ground drop to ride height, not like the tank systems that have quick hieght adjusts.

i cant say a recommend it, the volume of air required is not the problem, the issue is unlike airshocks, the bags hold the entire weight of the car, if you get a leak your grounded, literlly.

if you want a simpler system you can run one pump, and a smaller tank, but in all reality the system i have is very simple itself, i will post a schematic if there is enough intrest.

Good point about being grounded. I was thinking since I took up all the room of the hidaway storage with the stereo dont have much room. Still keeping the back area usable for large hauls. I guess I just go with springs. Thanks for the info!

if you are that cramped on space, you can run a belt driven compressor, and but a small tank, or tanks, in the enginge bay

I just thought of something too, If you do develop a leak, even in your system, aren't you grounded too. The compressor will be running all the time. I guess it would depend on the size and the location of the leak.

i have devloped a couple of leaks, the worse was caused by a sub-par zip tie that broke and let the rear supply hose snuggle up with the exhaust pipe, suprisinly the comperessors were able to keep up even with a 1/2" x 1" gash in the hose, i had to keep hitting the switch to keep the *** off the ground, but made it home easy enough, then just cut the bad section out put in a hose splice and about seven zip ties and havent had a problem yet.

also i was looking around at different tank options for you, do you still carry your spare tire, and if not they make little round pancake tanks to fit down in the well

Thanks again for the info. Yeah I keep the spare. Even with the way I have the stereo now, all I have to do is remove the box (small pain) and I can get to everything. Soo it still looks like springs for me ahahah

Hey undropped...

I am interested in the schematic you mentioned above, and in a PM to me you mentioned that you think you could have done it easier or more efficiently. I would love to hear your suggestions... your car is hot man.
