05 Magnum SXT 3.5L RWD Rear end noisy
Hey all, I am new to the forum here. I have a 2005 Dodge Magnum SXT 3.5L RWD w/102,000m that has a serious rear end noise issue. Originally I was thinking the preload on the drive pinion in the differential may need reset (oil seal is shot and needs replaced). Well, I was going to do it, but noticed the Right Rear drive wheel is extemely worn on the outer edge. It looks like the tire is toed inward. Do you think this could be a bearing issue instead of a pinion preload issue? I have ordered a new Timken Rear bearing hub for replacement (not cheap), but need more info before I start tearing it apart. I have the tires rotated every 7k-10k miles which is coming due on the next oil change. This is a recent issue and my tires have worn properly until now. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
