When I bought my new Magnum I bought the SXT with the 3.5 engine figuring I would beef it up to outperform the Hemi. Now I'm finding out that there aren't many aftermaket parts for this engine. I've read posts and watched videos of some of the other SXT's on this forum who seem to be runnig pretty strong and am curious if those who have done it can help me to get my SXT performing stronger. Headers, intakes, computer chips, forced induction, anything thatr will put some more umff into it. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I only know of CAI and Exhaust. I believe some have done the chip, but mixed results.

 

Thanks for the info. I was hoping for better news but oh well. Tell me do you think the CAI and the exhaust helped your performance.
I would like to have more power on the lower end.

 

Generally speaking, exhaust and intake mods help the upper end. When the rpm's are low there is more than enough air mass for the engine. When the rpms hit the higher range, it helps to get more in and more out. When I had the harley, I put on drap pipes (zero restriction) and actually lost mid range power, but I was able to hit 130 max from 120. The same was true for the Ram I had with glass packs. When I replaced with Flowmasters the mid power came back.
