Default RE: transmission shifting...

I just bought a 05 Magnum R/T. Had it for about 3 days with 20,000 miles on it when it started to rumble, like driving over those ripples just off the road. It done that for about 4 miles, then at a stop light I went to take off and all it did was rev. Called a hook and to dealer we went. Ten days later I find out that the torque convertor come apart and fill the trans with the a mess. Got it back and drove it for above 2 weeks with no problems. Then one saturday morning I ran it to the car wash and on the way home it started bucking while trying to shift into 4th gear. I called the dealer and they said to bring it by on monday when the tech is there. Well monday it started shifting normal again, so I called and told the dealer I would bring it in if it acted up again. The next saturday I ran it through the car wash again and it started to act up again on the way home. Now I've got it narrowed down to getting water under it when it starts. Monday on the way to the dealer I ran it through the wash again just in case and by time I got there it was really acting up. The trans tech plugged in the computer and went for a ride with me. Sure enough it didn't take long and he said it was the convertor, I told him it was just 3 weeks old when they replaced it and rebuilt the trans. So now its back for the third converter.

Can anyone explain this.

I have been having problems with transmission shifting. This morning, temperatures were below freezing, and when I started the car the tranny jerked in and out (it was in park) the engine revs went up and down, and when I shifted to reverse the engine revved and the wheels spun, and then bucked and settled down. The engine light then came on. I went out and picked up my mail and came back and shut down. I planned to go to my dealer in the morning.
Next morning, before starting up, I did the turn on ignition, wait till all lights go out, then stomp and let up on throttle. Everything is now working OK. Can anyone explain this?

I spoke to soon.

This morning the same thing happened. Started the car and the transmission (in Park) jerked and if I hadn't had the brake on it would have lurched forward. The engine surged up and down, and when I put it in reverse the engine revved and the wheels spun. Then the engine light came back on.

I drove to my local Dodge dealer and they did a plug in computer check. They said it showed "multiple engine misfires". The cause could be 13 different problems. Nothing about the transmission. I have an appointment on the 20th for them to analize the problem.
Will keep you posted. Note there are only 8200 miles on this car. Bought it as a 2006 in April 2005.

The auto transmission is great if I want the computer to determine how I want to drive (seems to have a heavy bias toward "old lady" driving). I use the Auto/Slap-stick and the car reacts like I want it to (Jet Stage II, K&N air charger, some exhaust mods).
Wondering if the Challenger manual tranny will work for the Magnum RT...?
