Default battery life

My '05 is still on original battery at 90k mi. Normal? Only time I've needed a jump was Fri when I sat in a pkng lot for an hour with XM thru cig lighter and cassette adaptor and I think I had the fan going as well. I've been amazed it's lasted this long. Comment?BTW I'm not a new member, couldn't logon.

I'd say you're on borrowed time brother.

Prolly, but I might be trading in next 2 mos. Don't want to give a dealer a new battery esp 'cause
they're going to gig me on superficial body damage. I missed the community mailbox a month ago ;punched the lf bumper/pretty good on the community mailbox.

every ones needs are different. for years i mostly had a back up or next to a garage, so a morning no start wasnt much trouble. but now i am in a apt. i have a 01 dakota, and i am having my battery and starter changed every 4 years.

Most every battery I've replaced has been completely operational when I bought a new one. After 5 years, I tend to replace them no matter how well they work. I would rather spend money on a new battery before I need to than find out the hard way (or even worse have my wife and kids find out the hard way) that I waited too long.

That said, if I were trading it in in two months, I might wait it out?

I was reading some threads when I came across this one. After 12+ yrs and 152,000 miles the battery in my '05 Magnum R/T finally gave up just a couple of months ago. I only had to jump it once and that was in my driveway on the day it died.
