Default Magnum SRT8 mods

just bought a new one last week and I am looking for some people who have already started doing engine, trans and gear mods. I am planning to build a monster out of this thing but I am starting to think that I am the first one....anyone else out there who is building one of these?

an intake would do ya good. It'll give it a nice deep growl and maybe enough pep to feel every now and again. Outside of that, your performance gains will largely have to wait until a reprogrammer is available. I mean, there is a supercharger available for ya but it's just not worth the clams until the kinks are worked out. You can run the bottle if your into that. Most bang for the buck at this point. I can tell you I have added a CAI, a magnaflow exhaust kit and long tube headers to my RT and have not gained a single tenth of a second in the quarter mile. The computer is working hard to fix what it sees as problems with the system due to these mods. Until I can repropgram it to utilize these mods, I'm just spinning my wheels.

... well, on slippery surfaces anyway.

I'm not feelin the jet chip, the pulling of fuse 17, or GS's throttle/fan mod. Foolin' computers is beggin for trouble. Reprogramming them to do what ya want is much better.
So, grab a DUB or MOPAR intake and throw on your favorite flavor of exhaust for right now. You'll want a muscle sound anyway. Then, when a reprogrammer is available (shortly after SEMA) you can get the feedback and see what mods it will unleash then have those done.
Thats what I'd do other than exhaust and an intake right now... wait and see what the reprogrammer does.

My husband and I have bought 2 SRT8s. The first one we got in July and have put on the Magnaflow exhaust, K & N air induction system and a jet chip. Now that was the one he kept. I am only putting the Magnaflow exhaust and the K& N air induction on mine. I don't need the speed and do not care to have anymore horsepower. Anyways he likes his with the chip. However I think that is all we are doing to ours, Let me know what you do with yours? What color is yours? My husband has a black one and I have a red one.

Give me 20 grand to spend and I could get a lot more than 550 out of that thing.

When you say monster truck do you want to raise this thing up, or just give it a lot of power?
