that seems awfully high...maybe not short term, but long term, that can not be good for the engine.
Did you put a real guage on there to find out the operating temp?

I have the factory package that allows me to change dash display and observe engine temp.

The Electronic Conv. package.

Remember that the coolant is under pressure, so the boiling point is higher than 212 degrees.

Yes, it is hot.............to lessen the engine emissions.

i changed my thermostat to a 180 and my car runs between 181-183 degrees when driving over 35mph. as high as 219 when in heavy traffic. the electric fans turn on low speed at 220 and high speed at 224. i need a programmer to adjust these settings. i want my fans to turn on low at 190 and high at 195. i don't want to see any higher that that.

if you ordered the optional electronic convenience group for $630, you will have the digital temperture gauge in the cluster.

Widow Maker 2,
I started an earlier thread addressing this issue. Seems the High Temperature is on Purpose. Hotter engines run more efficiently. Burns fuel better and all... Everyone else is getting the same results. About 219 or so for me... I like the Mirage Effect it puts off while you are sitting at a Red Light. (I like Red Lights!) You can see the heat in the shadow next to the car! One of the other Members told me, "I thought it was from the Fire Breathing Hemi under the Hood" lol
