New here, have a question...
Hey all, glad to have found this website. From my reading so far it seems there is a lot of useful info here. Anyway, I just bought a 2005 Magnum SXT AWD, which I am electric about. Today I had some 20" Player Wheels black 907's with 275-40-20 tires. I didn't notice until I got home that the backspacing or offset of the wheel seems wrong because the wheel sticks out of the wheel well quite a bit. I have searched cardomains website for Magnums with rims on them and most all of them don't seem to have this effect. Can anyone tell me if this is ok, or should I go back and switch out the rims for different ones with a more proper backspacing/offset? On a side note, if it doesn't affect the drive/ride/car I would probably keep them on because I don't necessarily mind the look. Thanks all.
i had boyd coddington make my 20 X 8 1/2" wheels with a +20mm offset and a 5 X 115mm bolt circle. these fit the wheelwells perfectly. i don't know what size wheels you have, but make sure you have the correct bolt circle. what are your wheel specs???
oh man, i didn't notice you have AWD. you need more positive offset than i have. sorry, don't pay attention to my specs. i agree with LtlDad and most likely, you have rear wheel drive rims on an AWD if they stick out. there aren't many AWD wheels out there. you may need to go the custom route like i did. boyd will make what you need to your specs.
Thanks for the input everyone. They are 20" with a 5x4.5 bolt pattern, however I am not sure what the offset is. I called the shop about it this morning and the guy who installed them told me that to clear the brakes that was the proper offset, but to me it does seem like they stick out a little too much. If I leave it like this will it cause a problem?

255/45 20 goodyear F1 in rear
i didn't trust asian tires. i needed something proven.
i had problem with the tire pressure sensors in the boyds because valve stems were drilled straight.
boyd fixed problem with new rims with valve stems drilled at correct angle. i haven't gotten the wheels
and tires remounted yet. i am thinking about painting the center of the boyds a mineral grey color and clear
coat everything.

I have the Coddington wheels in chrome. THey set out about an inch farther than stock which is perfect, still within the wheel wells though. I have them in 18s and used the original tires. They have no valve stems. The valve is recessed into the rim flush, where the front and rear sides meet, in order to clear the calipers. All you see is a round button with a screwdriver slot.
