"Go to the dealer and ask to order special tool number 9336. It cant be more than fourty bucks. THe problem is the level has to be set according to the temp
of the tranny, it involves looking at trans temp with a scan tool. "

So one must scan before every check?

Is leaving this out similar to how mercedes has a special oil bolt that requires you bring it into a dealer and pay them?

I think the whole idea is to prevent pinheads at the lube joint from putting dextron II in every car that comes in but a Ford. This is the main reason Minivan trannies go. I had a mechanic put it in my van, and I had to buy 14 quarts of the correct fluid to flush the whole transmission out. You should have seen it bubble over the opening to the dipstick! Talk about cavitation![:@]
