Is the difference in power really remarkable? Is the extra $$$ "worth it" for the SRT-8? I really like the RTs and have test driven a couple, but I can't stop thinking of those 425 horses behind the SRT-8 and thnking I might *need* that much HP

some of the stats that i saw only put the srt8 one sec. faster in a 1/4 mile. but i do love the look of it and i think there are other things diff in the inside that are better.

but thats all i know.

ONLY 1 SECOND...remember that 1 second in the 1/4 mile equates to approx. 10 car lengths...

Took a test drive in an SRT-8 today... Um, YEAH it's a lot faster, noticably so! Still don't know if the extra $$$ is worth the hp, tho. The seats are comfier, too. This dealer is not wanting to negotiate much around retail price, tho.

Yeah, there is a big difference between 340 HP and 425 HP... plus many other things.

so we are talking price what is the price diff. no one has listed the price diff? i guess it depends on how much money you have or how big of a payment you can afford? if i had the money i would go for it. but i dont thats why i only have an RT lol.

I honestly dont think the extra 7-10 Grand for the SRT-8 is worth it. Now, that's not to say you cant get a great deal on one towards the end of the year, but for a brand new model at the beginning of the model year.....forget it.

Btw, here's the price comparison for a standard R/T vs. SRT-8 from www.dodge.com. You should also keep in mind that you will probably pay more then this for one on a lot.

I would get one in a second, but the dealers don't really want to give much for trade with my R/T with 8000 miles.
He quoted me 38500 for the black SRT8 mag, and he was willing to give me 18k for my R/T....I told him to have a nice day
