Default 5.7 RT - weird miss

2005 Magnum RT , 133k

Last two days, when driving I feel weird hesitation. I don't know what it is. Almost feels like hitting a rev limiter and not a transmission issue. The tranny has about 74k miles on it.
No fault codes. No dash lights and the issue seems to happen in any gear. I'm about 14k over on needing a tranny flush.

Plugs replaced 74k miles ago when I got a fault code.

Really hard to describe. Hope the fault code shows itself someday.

Does it shake and/or hesitate, not want to rev right or run smooth?

It happens so quickly I don't even notice the rpms jump. It's a quick hesitation when applying the gas in any gear (tried to see a difference with auto stick). My son in the back seat asked me what was that.

Maybe I could video the event with some help.

The car posted two codes.

CPS sensor and a miss fire. Hmmm

Looks easy enough to replace but is it actually the problem? I don't have starting issues.

Thoughts?

Actually yes, in fact the misfire may have been cause by the crank sensor. Start with the crank sensor, clear the codes then see if the misfire is still there. If it is, then you either have a coil going or one or both of the plugs in that cylinder are done. If the CPS doesn't clear the misfire, swap the coil with another one to see if the problem migrates.

Thanks. Just bought the last CPS in Indy. Supposedly the part is on back order.

PB sprayed the bolts and will pu the part on Tuesday.

Replaced CPS sensor. Pretty easy job except for removing the connector.

Connector had lock and a squeeze and pull connector.

Note.

Unlock, if hard to move use contact spray.

Squeeze rocker end then pull connect from the opposite side.

Problem was resolved. Thanks
