Magnum Headlight tint/covers?
Hello everyone, I am still kinda new to the forums so forgive me if this had already been asked. As I am looking around at some of your pics I see alot of tinted looking headlights, what are you all using to do this? I have some experience with Rockblockers stuff and was not impressed, any other suggestions?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
First, Id never tint headlites because of the obvious reasons. There are several companies now making clear protective vinyl for the lenses. Those I recommend because Magnum headlites are not cheap to replace when a rock smashes one. You have to buy the whole assembly for upwards of $350 each. Cannot buy just a lens as it is a factory sealed unit.
You can make your own 'eyebrow' out of ordinary window tint. just make yourself a paper pattern and do it just like you do window tint. Get the highest quality one to withstand the weather. The cheaper tint wont last nearly as long.
cut out your part from the tint sheet, peel off the clear backing and spray the sticky side and the headlite lens good with a spray bottle using clean water and a few drops of dish soap. without touching the back sticky side, lay it on the lens and use a rubber or plastic squeege and work out bubbles from the center outward toward both sides. If you get any wrinkles from the curve of the lens, spray the outside also with the mixture and use a hair dryer to form the tint as you keep squeegeing.

Another solution that will also help prevent getting tickets from Laser is Veil Stealth coating. It actually reduces the effective range of Police radar guns, and tints the headlights and taillights when applied to them. It may seem pricey, but when compared to the price of a speeding ticket, it may pay for itself. Check out Radar Detector.net to get real world reviews and pictures. This is also a great forum if you are deciding on radar detectors or laser jammers.
^I call BS. That stuff that claims all that crap is exactly that, crap. The only thing on the market that has any anti-radar effect is a radar jammer, and I believe those are illegal. Save your money and get a good radar detector like valentine1 or a passport.

Crazymjb, Veil is effective for LASER, not radar. Check on Radar Detector.net and they have extensively tested this product's effectivenes against Police LASER guns as well as real life experiences for the radar detectors that you mentioned. Radar jammers are illegal, that's why I didn't mention jamming radar. It just seems that more places are using Laser for speed enforcement, that's why I mentioned this product for people who this may help.
Eviltwin67 is correct. I have been a cop for over 11 years now and I can tell you, this will NOT work for radar. It COULD work for laser depending on what reflective surface is being targeted. Any reflective surface can give a good reading for laser, it comes down to how well trained the officer is and how advanced the unit is. Trust me if they want you they can get ya.
