Here are some more shots of my Magnum RT with the strobe stripes.

Also have pics of me installing them if you care to see them.

I personally am not a big fan of graphics because they are rarely done the right way, but I really like the racing stripes for the dodge magnum that Dodge sells as an aftermarket mod.
My only concern with vinyl is what happens to it in the constant sun or when you decide to wax your car. Eventually they will fade and when they do they must come off. Once you take them off there will be "ghost" marks where they once were. Best way to go about it is have them painted on the right way.

The vinyl stripes on my car were made from quality vinyl, they have a 10 year warranty.

When and if they ever give me problems, I will use them as a guide to paint the strobe stripes on my car.

I applied them myself and it came out great.

"I hear ya" when some folks talk about steering clear of graphics....

...Ultimately I ask myself, "Would I do graphics if there was nothing wrong with my car?" I'm not really sure of the answer. I see some graphics (like the ones above) and I really like them. I know many folks (like Grinner) really like to go for the sthealth'd out look (shaving mouldings, badges...etc).....and to put graphics on their car would be undesirable. I'm sort of caught in the middle. I like to have the flash look.....but in a subtle way. I already went to great pains to get RT headlights, rims, foglights and grille for my SXT. That brought out the 'flash' look for me. I would simply have my Magnum no other way.

So now the situation that I'm forced into throws a monkey wrench into that. Many here would say, "Just crank out the 1150 bucks and get it re-painted!!" That's easier said than done. With other expenses (not to mention the time of year) I don't exactly have 1150 bones hanging around. And I really am not interested in going thru insurance just to see my rates go up.

So I'm not sure.......I guess I'll see what my artist comes up with and go from there.

I have a scratch in one of my doors. Just use a modelers paint brush with the OEM color and brush enough color to cover the scratch, then brush in enough coats of clear to make it higher than the surrounding paint. Then use some #1200 wet or dry sandpaper on a small piece of wood to wet sand that back down to match the rest. Then rub it out with compound. It only leaves the paint and clear in the scratch itself and almost impossible to detect if you take your time. I own a body shop and do that to a lot of cars that dont need the panel painted. If the scratch is only in the clearcoat, you only need to brush in clear and no color. If you looked on my car for the scratch, you will never find it and its dark blue.

Exactly how is spending 3 times the price saving me money???

Not everyone in the world likes 'toned-down' or 'steathed-out' cars. Many are fans of 'flash'. If I wanted my car to blend in, I'd have bought a boring sedan. I've seen many cars out there with tastefully done graphics and they look incredible. We're starting to get a population of Magnums in my area......so I'm pretty interested in doing something to make my Mag stand out.

Sorry for the snap.....but I'm not interested in hearing folks say "Just re-paint it". If I had your money......no prob!!! Maybe down the road sometime I'll get some kind of nice custom paint job......but that won't happen for a while.
