Default 2006 Magnum RT AWD rebuilt front suspension

Hi all. Rebuilt entire front suspension with all new. Bought new struts as well. Car sits really high in front 32inches from ground to fender. Thought it was springs on the struts I bought. I Purchased a name brand spring and installed on the struts and it’s the same height. I replaced the rear springs and shocks and no issues. But the height in front makes the magnum look like a Carolina squat machine.

what did I do wrong? I regret not keeping the old parts, the struts matched the old exactly. Any suggestions? What other details did I miss in this post?

Were all the parts torqued at normal ride height or was the suspension hanging when you did it?

Ride height. I left all bolts loose, jacked it to lift it up till it just came off the jacks then torqued.

Ok, not that. Just because the spring is the same height unloaded doesn't mean it's gonna be that way when loaded (as you can see lol). Have you driven it yet? To settle the suspension out? That's quite a bit to settle but maybe....was this a kit or separate pieces? Do you still have the part numbers?

Drive it daily. I Purchased the Detroit axle kit. All the parts went in with no issues. The shocks were auto shack cst100760pr from Amazon as I was trying to keep costs low and just get the car riding well. Auto shack stated these would fit the car, and matched the ones I took out.
Yes you are right about the springs, so I figured change the springs, bought acdelco variable springs from rock auto, and so here I am. Nothing changed.

so I have thrown money at this issue which I usually never do, if I saved all the old parts and done my homework better I wouldn’t be in this situation. But oh well, I know the front end like the back of my hand now.
I am only looking to get the car back to proper height, take the wife for a nice ride and enjoy the occasional dust up at a light.

Saw your Amazon review.....I have an innate distrust of auto parts on Amazon unless it's an OEM part coming directly from a dealer. Not much comes up on that p/n Google wise (kinda suspicious to me). Shouldn't have tossed those old parts so quickly.

I keep looking at the parts diagram trying to see if there might be anything else that may have caused your problem and it's gotta be the strut. Did the bottom fork come with it or did you reuse your originals?

I feel you about Amazon parts, though I had read up on other reviews of Detroit axle parts on other websites (but reviews can be automated, thanks technology)
and I must say they appear to be well made.

As far as the struts they were auto shack. Now in their defense they refunded me my money and let me keep the struts. I used the original fork and while I didn’t measure the struts I stood them side by side on level concrete and the height was the same. I agree it has to be the struts.

So I am considering going with Monroe’s? Any thoughts?

I really appreciate the feedback!

and yes my wife is also kicking me for throwing the old parts out.

Well, they are at least an established company doing this for years now. I'm partial to Bilsteins myself but I don't think they make them for the AWD's (could be wrong though).

Looking at a bunch of used struts on eBay for reference, I noticed all the struts are about 7 coils. All I see new for my year are 9/10 coils on struts which might explain the stiffness. But if I look at newer charger AWD struts they are about the same 7 coil springs. So compatibility of chargers and magnums is the same correct?
