Magnum has a Mind of it's Own...
Hey,
Does anyone experience the driving style differences in the Magnum at differnt Start Ups, due to the 'learning' computer? My 2001 Dodge Caravan used to do this also. Sometimes, when you get in and go, it just WANTS to go... Where it would normally shift into 2nd, it stays at a high RPM, almost telling you, "PUT YOUR FOOT IN IT, DAMNIT!" It is even worse (better, actually) in the Magnum... I have begun to tell when my car starts up in "Race Mode"... A "Normal" start up will start the car and go into an idle with no pedal. A "Race Mode" start up will start the car and the engine will start up with a "Rev-Like" burst and then go into an idle, all with no pedal. It's like the computer wakes up and goes, "Let's Go!" I can tell a quiet measurable difference when it is started in "Race Mode", like the presssure it puts you back in the seat is much greater. Much less low end pause off the line, creating an almost instant 'Power Band' at 3,000 RPM right from the start. It also winds out a bit further and shifts with more authority... I just wish there was a switch, so I could be in "Race Mode" all of the time... I love this damn thing!
Has anyone else experienced these symptoms? Or not? Please reply...
