Default Continental Tires

I have a Magnum RT. I bought car new 13 months ago. I had front wheel aligment checked 2 week after I got car. I have tires rotated and balanced every 3,000 miles. I have 9,500 miles on Magnum now. Looks like tires will need replacing at 20,000 miles and will be 2 years old.I am 68 years old and have not been hard on tires. Will Continental help me any? On my Sevelle STS the Michelin tire runs 60,000 miles before need replacment.[:@]

I have the same tires, they do seem to wear out fast.

What air pressure are you using? I run mine at 35 PSI.

Don't think Continental will help you

Oh well,

Bob

you can try Continental....but this is what everyone is experiencing with these tires....on your new set try the Goodyear Assurance. If you read reviews on www.tirerack.com about the continentals you'll understand. Also Keep in mind that the magnum is a very heavy car.

Black RT,
Yes, about a 23,000 mile tire... But they handle extremely well. I replaced my Conitental's with a Higher Tread Rating Tire, but they do not stick to the ground like the Continentals. This car does wear tires fast due to it's heavy weight and exessive Camber in the streering. Take your car and turn the wheel all the way to the left and park it in that position. Now get out and see why the tires wear fast! Next set of tires will have a very, very low tread rating, thus sticking to the ropad better! I love this thing!

Continental actually has an 800# where you can call in and make a warranty claim. As was mentioned above, the complaint is a common one. A couple of observations:

If you replace the crappy Conti's under warranty they will be replaced with ... crappy Conti's. The tire wear isn't going to improve.

Higher treadwear ratings do indeed let you break the tires loose more easily. But if you don't put your foot into it you may never know this. My 440-rated Toyo 255/45/20's love to break loose under acceleration in the wet. When the time comes I will probably replace them with Goodyear F1 Supercars, which have a 220 rating. Wear out faster but they will stick like glue.

What is the 800#? I only have 17000 on mine and they are slick. I have an SXT with the RT rims and tires. I'll take another set if they will warranty them, but I would never buy these tires. I have a 2003 Ram 3500 CTD with michelins and they have 40000 miles on them. They arent even halfway worn out yet. I am very disappointed with these tires. I understand that they stick better and all that, but when I went to the local NTB to price tires, I found out they are rated for 60000 miles. Whats wrong with that picture? The stealer told me the same thing.

The stock continentals are simply junk, poor traction in dry, wet, and snow, and they wear so fast it isn't funny, no continental won't do anything about it, I already tried to get them to replace the tires on mine. I have 14,000 miles and they are pretty much done, i'm actualy going after work today to get a set of goodyear assurance tires put after sliding all over the place from the snow storm yesterday, I had to turn off traction control to actualy get going because they were getting so little traction that the traction control was basicaly backing the engine off down to idle speeds, 0-30 in about a min+ :/

Are the Continentals you guys are referring to the self-sealing ones? That's what my AWD came with or are you talking about a different tire?
The wife's old Honda had Michelins on it and I replaced them at 90,000 miles. I love Michelins, even though they are expensive.
