Default Need help, V10 into Magnum...

I hear rumors that there may be a "kit" out there somewhere to perform the ultimate engine swap, Viper V10 into the Magnum. I'm wanting to do this swap in about 5 years when the college debt is gone but if someone has already designed a kit that makes things much easier. has anyone heard of this kit/company/rumor??

thanks

Anything can be done. But I dont see how it would fit. My RTs Hemi is nearly as long as the opening between firewall and radiator. I dont know the dimensions, but the V10 with 2 extra cylinders would have to be at least 5 inches longer.

I'm sure it can fit, would take a lot of cutting and welding, but if someone can fit the vipers engine under the hood of a PT cruiser (which is cramped with the 2.4 in there) then i'd think the magnum would be significantly easier.

As for a kit to do that, i've never heard anything about that yet and honestly i'd be surprised if someone did make a kit seeing as a stroked 6.1 puts out as much horse as the vipers V10 and would cost a lot less to do, a V10 would be more of a one off shock value type thing.

I guess my question would be why? I would much rather go with a 6.1 hemi or even the new 392 crate motor..

Just get a 6.1 and then a supercharger...can get at least 500rwhp for less money and hassle than doing an engine swap.

My question is could you take the 6spd manual from the Ram 2500 and stick it into the Magnum since its the same 5.7 HEMI?? (might need a few tweeks here and there but would it work??)

The truck 6 spd manual might not fit, but if the Viper 6 speed manual fits into the new Challenger concept it would likely fit into the Magnum. Both are LX cars.
And if the bellhousing mates to the 6.1 it would probably mate to the 5.7 as well....

Sounds doable to me

Isn't the Challenger on the LY platform? A few inches shorter and several other changes than the LX.
