Default Miles vs Features

This is probably a no brainer but if you had an option to get either a 05 RT loaded w/ Nav. Satellite etc. but with 30K miles on it for $24K or a 05 RT basic New with no miles for 25k, which would you go with?

i would go for loaded. it still has probably over 100,000 Miles left, so do you really want to have it that long without features?

I'd take the 05 with basically no miles.....mostly because you are still getting the same performance....but you are getting a few less options, a longer lasting warranty.....

Also the fact that an 05 already has 30k on it scares me...as if its been driven to crap or it was a lease/rental vehicle......

One last thing.....most options on cars these days are cosmetic things.....and since you arent talkin about an SRT-8.....I cant honestly see why you would buy the loaded one...

Edit: How many of those options do you even really want? And if the car didnt have them anyways, would you still want them? I personally could careless whether a car comes with leather seats or tinted windows. I'll re-tint the windows anyways, and whether it has the upgraded soundsystem or not doesnt matter either....because I'll put in my own system anyhow...

The Nav system is nice, but do you really need it? Or would you even really use it?

I would go with the basic since it does have decent options to begin with...and I agree how many time are you really using the nav system or the sunroof anyway....go with the basic and do stereo upgrades if need, which you really do not need...

I would go for the one with the low miles, it has enough basic features to be a nice car.

As for the one with the high miles, it isn't so bad, remember these cars came out in 2004. So the car could be close to 2 years old, I bought mine in july of 2004 and it has 18,000 miles on it now.

Pick either one, you can't go wrong.

Absolutely correct....but unless I knew for sure that it was produced in say Sept of 04 as opposed to say Feb of 05....I'd be leery...

Any car that has more then 25k on it in less then 18 months would worry me....

As far as the one with the 30k miles, the dealer said it was only owned by one person and that this person has some pizza chain where he has one location here in Michigan and another in Atlanta and that he would travel back and forth on some occassions by car. I forget the name of the pizza place but I did do a Carfax on the vehicle, I'm not sure how accurate it is but from Carfax it does look like it has only been one owner however title was issued to this owner on 12/14/04 with only 11 miles on it. So, that means that this owner actually did drive 30k miles in 12 months and not in 18 months like I was hoping cause that would have made a little more sense to me. But if the dealership is telling the truth about the owner and his pizza places then that would explain the high miles in such a short amount of time. I don't know? I just want the best deal (money and quality) for the amount of money I'm about to fork over!

Let me add. If your gona do some mods anyway go with the new low miles one.
If your not gona change much and like the way the high-miler car is opted the go for it.
Also, look into what kind of maintaince it had. Did he follow the book and have it done at dealer?
High mileage in a short time is OK if its been serviced.
Good luck.

I would go with a new one because the dealer doesnt allways have the good stuff and you can get a better deal on aftermarket choices such as Navigation, performance, etc and also because when you buy used your usually buying someone elses problem
