So i'm at work today, and having a decent friday, and I get a call from my wife, turns out that are new magnum that we have already had in service twice, decides to stall on her, with my two children in it, while she is pulling out into traffic, car dies in the middle of a turn, so the power steering and the power brakes become non exsistent and if the oncoming cars were not paying attention, my wife and my children would of been pretty much T boned. It finally starts back up, and as she is just hoping it makes it home, it does it to her again. This is like the 7th time all together that this Piec of $%^& has done this, the dealer already said they fixed it once, with a ecu replacement, now it does it with my entire family in the car, in rush hour traffic. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING, I have contacted chrysler corp, they tell me all I can do is start the arbitration process. Mean while my car is beign towed back to the dealer, because I'll be damned if I let my family get back into that rolling pile of junk. I had a feeling when I bought this car, it was gonna have issues, but I thought no way, even Dodge can't mess up a brand new car. I am so freakin upset right now, I can't imagine what I would have done if my wife or my babies would of gotten hurt. I called a different dealer, because the one I bought it at, has no idea what's going on with it, because it doesn't throw a code it just shuts off. So another dealer said "oh yeah we are getting quite a few people having the same issue, and get this Chrysler knows about it he said. I was like WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! and they can't figure it out, but the rep is coming out on tues. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? Chrysler knows about this..... So let me get this straight, Chrysler is letting unsuspecting families drive around in there piles of junk knowing that at any time, they can stall potentially causes a serious accident and injury, or even death. I have now sent the customer complaint form to chrysler, and am attempting to get this thing bought back, I will not put my family in danger, at this point if nothing is resolved I will take this car, and leave it at the dealer, and to hell with my good credit, this car should not be on the road. it should be destroyed, I have had problems with it since day one. I intend to write a letter to anyone that I can. I have never done anything like this before, and I don't know where to start, I have read the buyers rights under the lemon law, and it states that if the dealer has attempted to fix this car two or more times, for a issue that can cause injury or death, that it qualifies for a buy back. I'm sure theres is fine print somewhere in the back of the book probably in chinese or something stating something different. But I guess this is the only starting point I have right now. If anyone has any info that could help me, please send me a pm, or reply. Or if anybody has had the same issues lets, compare notes so maybe we can all be one big voice for chrysler to hear.

Thanks for reading.

MATT

I wish I could tell you it's a major issue, but of the four BBS's I read that are about LX car's, no one is having this issue. Sorry..

Looks like you have either a Monday or a Friday car..hope you can get the Lemon process to work for you!

I am not sure what the lemon law is in Cal.. But, you must get a lawyer. It is free. Any lawyer who wants money is not a good one. they get their money from chrysler when it is settled. And keep in mind that the dealer has nothing to do with replacing the car. Once you contact a lawyer and send them your repair records they take it from there. You are not to talk to anyone. DO NOT take that car back. If you are afraid to drive it let it sit in the yard til it is settled. Complaining to Chrysler will get you nowhere. They will just try to pacify you. Unfortunately it takes from 3 to 18 months to settle. But, usually in a case like yours it will not ever go to court. They must either offer you a new car, or the return of your money including sales tax and all other expenses. But, once it is turned over to a lawyer, you cannot make any deals with them. It must be done through your lawyer or you WILL have to pay all lawyer fees. Get a lawyer who only handles Lemons. They will give you all the info you need.
Good Luck,
B.J.

well as far as your hate of magnums cause of one bad apple I am sorry, but like said before. maybe your car was made on a monday or friday and as far as Honda crap or toyota junk at might last a long time but its cheap. but that is my opinion. i only have just gone over 7,000 miles on my Hemi but no problems what so ever. sorry to hear about your mishap and its good to hear your family is ok. good luck in all your dealings.

I'm in agreement with Matyboy don't curse the whole line because of one bad experience, I have seen Japanese cars with just as many problems as anything else. This is my 3rd dodge car in recent years and have not had anything major happen that has swayed me away from the brand yet ..........I'm sorry to hear about your mishaps, and wish you luck with the resolution, but please don't curse the rest of us for loving our cars....that includes your wife

Put this in perspective.

Ten years ago any model on the road could have done this.

If it were a standard transmission it could stall in the middle of a turn with traffic coming on because of an incorrectly engaged clutch.

It does stink that they haven't been able to fix it, but you know it's hard to feel sorry for you when you're freaking out so badly. Nothing constructive can come of rants like that.

Unexpected stalling is a specific enough issue (in the business they call cases like yours "walk-homes" because the vehicle is disabled) to be able to find the issue and fix it for good.

Chrysler considers "walk-homes" the most serious customer service issue.

Don't believe what dealers tell you. 45% of the time they lie, 45% of the time they don't know or have the right information and the rest of the time (10%) they'll tell you the straight goods. If you find one of those dealers stick with them and tell us who they are so that we can frequent their establishments.

I know no one here has ever vented before I apologize, what was I thinking getting so upset when my family was almost in two accidents, I apologize to chrysler for any bad words or thoughts that I have expressed in my previous post, and am truly so sorry for offending anyone by saying anything bad about your vehicles. please forgive me. I guess I don't fit in here, I'm just human, and I definately don't have a soap box I can climb on.
