Code scanning won't work.

Without a sentry key that is learned by the car you can't start it period.

Your car must have been towed away by the thieves.

They ripped the dash apart, sure, but there's no way to start the car without the correct sentry key.

I talked to my dealer yesterday, they said with out the key the car won't start, if you try to start the car any other way, the Magnum shut's down and won't start unless the dealer reprograms it.

I'm sorry, but I find this story to be off, the guy works at a bank by a country club, a busy place, most likely day time or afternoon and someone comes along and tows away a Magnum? Then they only rip apart the dash and take the seats? All that trouble for some seats?

I mean, come on.

the FOB is 399.00 i think.
PRetty much they remove a relay from the engine compartment, then they program the two FOBs aqnd put one in your keychain.
THey (or at least my dealer) gave me the original relay and showed me where it goes.
The guy who installed it said that if for some UNKNOWN reason the car would not start not even pressing the button on the FOB (it has a small button for cases when it does not synch with relay installed) then to remove the relay and install the original and go to the dealer.

I have the relay in the car hidden in the trunk just in case.

It is a cool technology, we have them at the office to unlock doors, it is so much easier than keys.

That would explain why the batteries were disconnected? Hook up their own power source and they're out, I guess. The ignition switch was ripped outta tha dash.

I was drivin an RT, not an SRT -- I don't know if that makes a difference.

I'm going to release the car to the dealer today, so I'll ask them to confirm how it was moved. If it was towed away, it should show something from that... mebbe.

I'm in Floriduh. Miami. Work in Doral... right by LA Fitness...

One thing I know, it wasn't towed. Last week while backing I dropped the left side into a small ditch with a foot of snow covering it, so did not know it was there. STUCK...Called range control and they came out with a huge 4x4 truck and a cable and.....no tow hook on the Magnum. Looked in the owners manual and it says "DO NOT TOW THIS CAR, YOU WILL DAMAGE IT!!! Took 4 guys pushing and a little luck to get me moving, would have been a lot easier with a tow.

BEWARE? For a minute there the subject line made me think my RT was going to spontaneously combust. Relieved to only learn that car thieves steal car seats
