Default PLEASE READ - New Recall

So this morning I see the ESP/ABS light is on on my dash. Wondering what the problem is, I soon notice my direction signals, controls on the steering wheel, wiper blades and high beams are not working. I called my salesman and he said a recall was issued just today for this problem. Some sort of reprogramming of the computer needs to be completed. Didn't sound like a major problem to fix, if that is the problem. It is a hasle though getting honked at for not having directionals. I'll keep you posted on the repair. Anyone else been having this issue? Supposed to be some sort of static electricity problem

I just hope they don't have to replace the whole computer and that they can program it themselves. Good luck on that

my light came on once like that..... but I didn't see any of the other things happen, but when i shut the car down and restarted the esp/abs light went away and hasn't come on since.....I did read in the owners manual about doing some thing to make it go away ......but I'm assuming that my situation was not as near serious as yours

let us know what happends

Good Luck

Well, the recall was in fact for the Durango, not the Magnum, although it was for a similar problem. It turns out that some electronic module associated with the sterring column went kaput. Hence no signals, high beams, radio controls, cuise, etc. They also said this is what caused the ESP/ABS light to turn on. Unfortunatley they didn't have the part so I'm in a rental until hopefully only tomorrow. Not a big deal, but the car only has 2000 miles on it and it's in the shop. Crossing my fingers this is the only problem.
