CAI = Cold Air Induction. Most people either call it an intake, or CAI.

Not one single CAI on the market has proven ANY HP gains. On other forums every brand was compared side by side on a dyno to prove it.

That being said, do you think the "bling and growl" factor are cool enough to drop the dough on? The money isn't a problem for me, but I'm not sure what to expect. Will it be too loud? Will it be annoying on long freeway drives or talking to passengers? Will it inadvertantly hamper the performance in anyway? I am debating whether or not the drop in True Flow air filter is maybe all I need.

Also, does anyone use the K&N performance oil filters? Are there any factors to determine which oil filter I should be using?

I'm due for my first oil change, so I was hoping to take care of the CAI or drop in air filter issue and oil change all in one service call.

Yeah, the sound is pretty cool, and they do look really nice under the hood. Mopar and DUB make the nicest looking ones IMO. The sound is not intrusive, you really only hear it when you are heavy on the go-pedal anyway.

I don't know of anyone reporting losing power or causing any damage with any CAI.

Al, if you do a search on the LXForums, you'll find all the info.

Thanks for the input. I'm gong to splurge and get the DUB unit. It def looks like the best built and has the sharpest looks. Probably why it's the most expensive. Thanks for the input. I'll let you know how it works out. Having it installed next Thursday.

Jaime, many people have spoken of decent gains from adding Zoomers Exhaust. Zoomers is the best sounding, and so far just about the only one with NO DRONE. Expect around 10-20hp gains, and the sound is out of this world. You can hear the system on a Magnum on Zoomers website.

The SuperChips tuner is out, but a few bugs need to be worked out. Those who have had good luck have reported that their R/T feels like an animal in comparison to stock.

People have also reported good performance with Kook's Headers, but be prepared to do the rest of the exhaust as well.

Could you provide those dyno results? Who conducted the tests?
Go to LXForums.com and look at the Intake/Exhaust/Performance forum. Specifically the GIFO (Great Intake Face-Off) series of tests.

Make sure you're sitting down and already have a sandwich and a soda as you will be reading for a good long while, if you choose to pore over all of the provided data.

I had a Borla on my 5.7 Magnum, real nice. On my Srt 8 I put a Corsa Perf. exhaust on. Real nice also but no noise at cruising speed. A little nicer. That noise gets to you after an hour...thanks

How does the sound differ between the CAI and new exhaust? Just curious because I like the sound of a powerful engine, some of the exhausts I've heard sound bites of sound lame. Not looking for a simulated sound of any sort.

Would you or anyone else have a picture of either of these brands? Also, do you know if DUB makes a system for the 3.5L yet? Found one web site but no mention of the 3.5L engine

I don't get this forum. You have hundereds of posters bragging about CAI's and exhaust they have, yet when I post a simple question about either of these, noboby replies. 1 person has given me some useful information, but for the most part you all seem to be a bunch of hermits! I'm going over to LX forums, much better responses and postings over there. Sayanara!
