Default Can a factury installed Sirius unit be converted to XM

I have a Magnum with a factory installed sirius radio/navigation system. I'm a XM subscriber and would rather have my indash unit recieve XM as opposed to having to velcro my protable unit to the dash. Is it possible to have something changed/replaced in my unit to make it recieve XM instead?

Thanks for the help!

Hey man, I work at Circuit City Roadshop, and I have had people ask me that question all the time, and as of right now, the answer is no. You would need a radio that is XM ready or Satelite Radio ready.

Im working on a solution of getteing an FM modulator for stock radios and a XM reciver(Brain). I'll update.

Can you hook up an XM receiver through an aux input? Pereipheral is supposed to release and aux in in a day or so.

Ok. So I can't change the service on that radio...next question.

Is there anyway of adding a 1/8" mini aux/jack to my existing system so I can line in my current xm portable, as opposed to using the fm transmitter which seems to not work too well in my area.

Bossman,
Check this out. It may work for you.

http://peripheralelectronics.com/web...n.asp#CHRYSLER

It is supposed to be available now. They responded to my email questions about ipod interface quickly. Might be worth the email.

It will give you 2 RCA inputs, which you could then use an adapter to get 1/8" unless you can use the rca inputs.

Ok. Thanks for the tip. After talking with peripheral it looks like this unit is going to work just fine. All I need to do is remove the siruis tunner and plug this unit instead

Final question. Can someone point me in the right direction for instructions on how to take a mangnum's dashboard apart. I've worked on radios in the past but I don't want to screw this one up!

Thanks for all your help.

Bill
