Default Question about CD/Nav system on my Magnum

Just have a couple questions about the CD/Nav system. First does anybody else have a problem with the titles of songs on their GPS screen when listening to the radio if not does this mean my Nav system needs to be looked at? Second, There have been times when my Nav system tells me there is a disc error to reinsert disk. I will take the GPS disc out reinsert and it still says error. Eventually after toying with the disc it works. Does this mean the reader is bad on the Nav?

Are you referring to the data that the radio station transmits out while listening to the radio? Sometimes only partial letters of the words or call station are displayed?

I get this from time to time and I attribute this to the radio stations signal transmission is sometimes experiencing data transmission delays when updating the display.
On CD's that display title information I've never had any problems like i had with the radio station's artist and song title info.

I'm no expert on this but I am assuming that it is not a problem with our Audio/GPS system so much as it is the technology of transimitting the radio data is not yet be perfected.

Hopefully someone can enlighten us all on this.

... ever find out the cause? I've noticed it usually happens to me in hot weather.

Only problem with mine was the zoom **** broke, and was replaced (The whole radio) under warranty. Only 2 days to get the radio too.

Is it possible that the disk error is from a music CD or are you positive it's referring to the navigation disk?
If it's the nav disk it would be nice to get your hands on another one and see if you still get the error.

Maybe you can insist on the dealer to supply you with another one to test out for a while.
Obviously if the problem persists its possibly the disk read head.

Whether it's the disk or the reader, it should be under warranty.
Unfortunatley it probably does'nt present itself when the dealer looks at the problem.

This is all probably insight that you already have.
If not, I hope this puts you on a path to start on.

Let us all know when you get a resolution to this.

Thanks, I'll definitely have it checked out during my next servicing.

Of course it probably won't happen when I'm trying to show them!

Has this problem ever been solved?? I too have the same problem and where once i could keep reinserting the nav disk, eventually it would take, now it never takes.

I need help on this. My closest dealer now is over 20 miles away. They are closing all around me. I am out of warranty, is there an alternative fix it shop like a stereo installer?

Default Navigation Error

I'm having the same exact problem now with my system, Disk Error for the Navigation. I have seen other people have had the same problem but no one has posted what the problem is or what the fix is. Anyone know the solution??

The solution for me was to replace the disc with a new one. A bit pricey at over $200 but it worked fine after the new disc was installed.
