Default Trailer Hitch

I traded a full size GMC conversion for my Magnum. I need to get a hitch to hold my bike rack (Class I 1 1/4"). Does anyone have a hitch and does it screw up the back of the Magnum? Not sure if I have an option. but it is fugly, I can get one for my wife's Nissan Sentra. That would not be very practical since I, all of a sudden, hate driving that car

Thanks for any input.

The factory hitch is hidden when there is nothing attached to it. I have to tow on occaision with mine, as I gave up my F350. You can then buy an adapter which will give you a horizontal receiver to accept the rear hitch.

You have to drop the exhaust to hook up the hitch. I had the dealer install at purchase. Another option is a roof rack. If you have the factory roof racks, both Thule and Yakima make a set up that will wok. As of yet, they do not offer an option without the factory racks. bike transportaion was a priority for me. We transport a tandem, amongst other bikes, on the Thule setup on the roof. Ufortunately, the tandem is so long, it will interfere with the rear door! I can take pictures of the factory hitch if you would like.

RT and Silver

Thanks for the response. I actually am looking at the drawtight, it's in stock and I can get the 1 1/4" receiver that I need for my bike rack. From my very limited time with the Magnum, it looks like it should fit underneath pretty well, but with a large group like this, I always like to ask first.

Thank you very much

Yes I did. Went with a company, eTrailer, that I used for my first hitch. It's local to me, but even then, It was cheaper for them to ship -- $10 as opposed to 60-70 mile round trip. It is a DrawTight and online they had an instalation that looked pretty good. Cost was good, too, at $130. I'll get a few pics out when I have it installed.

IMO, factory hitch is the way to go! Invisible until you need it!!
