Does anyone out there know of a company that makes the honeycomb grill that is like the one in the SRT8 that will fit the '05 Magnum R/T front bumper cap?

 

I'm not sure of what you mean by the front bumper cap? ...but I'm sure that for an arm, a leg and your first born, you can probably get the SRT8 grill by going to the parts department at your local dealership.

Dodge makes one, though it's chrome not black, unfortunatly they want like $360 for it. I better way to go that i've seen others do is get the OEM grill from the base model of the current gen ram (prior to the refresh, 03-05? I think), it's a black plastic honeycomb grill, then take the grill itself off the frame, pull the factory magnum grill off, take the bars off the magnums grill and then take the honeycomb grill off the ram one and cut it to fit the magnum one and glue it on, i've seen pictures from someone who has done that, it came out really good.

Thanks for the info! I went so far as buying one for the SRT8 from Dodge and was told that it would interchange with RT bumper cap. So I proceeded to have a body shop install and found out that it would not fit. So, I'm now willing to try this approach and was wondering if you have tried and what has been your success? I just can't believe that there is not some manufacturer out there willing to make something as simple as a plastic honeycomb grill to fit the Magnum RT and the standard Magnum bumper cap. But as yet we have not been able to find one. Your information with links and diagrams has been the most help we've found anywhere! Thanks for your help.

 

I haven't actualy tried it yet, i've been waiting to find a used grill for cheap, i've been checking the local junk yards to see if they had gotten one in but so far no luck.

 

the hexagonal ram grill doesn't have the depth that the SRT grills have making them too see through in my opinion.

your best bet is to buy the new chrome Mopar hex grill for your non-SRT magnum. beadblast the chrome and epoxy paint it satin black. the mopar grill is symetric up and down and left to right. it is top quality all the way.

 

Only problem is the Mopar grill is rediculously priced at about $360, if it was $100ish maybe, but $360 is just to much for a grill imo.

 

i agree, it is over priced right now because the demand is high for a SRT style grill. it is not worth anymore than the stock magnum grill. but, did you see some of those aftermarket grills going for $2500 and more. worse yet, they make the magnum's front look like a ford 500.
