He has the prototype, now it's just a matter of getting the tubing bent and check then it will be available. I'll update this when it's done... about 2 weeks probably.

Yep, as a matter of fact there is. We finally got machine time at a shop and they said it would be a maximum of 2 weeks, so it will "hit the shelves" shortly after.

It took longer than I thought to get it rolling.... the shop was sort of booked up. But it's in work now. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Intake will arrive at phantoms door in bits as it is produced. This way he can start playing and testing right away.

Why are we developing a new intake to replace the stock which is virtually perfect? All the reading I have done says it doesn't need to be replaced.

there's no such thing as a virtually perfect stock intake, virtually all stock intakes suck (or would that be that they don't suck in this case) and are extremely restrictive compaired to a good aftermarket one, also they use a much more restrictive paper filter as well.

virtually perfect is virtually perfect...restrictions are just part of the game, we work to minimize. And supposedly Dodge did well in that area, which is above typical.

My point is, it's either 6, half dozen or whatever.

well all the aftermarket intakes so far are showing a 10-12hp gain at the rear wheels so dodge didn't do well enough because the stock intake is pretty restrictive and the acordian style tube cause a poor airflow, and that 10-12hp increase is still using the lower stock intake tube which is fairly restrictive itself, removing/replacing that would likely push the gains up in the +15hp range at the rear wheels.
