the car (twice now)has lost power for a second and then gets it back. the first time the engine light came on for about 7 hours then went off on its own.the second time no engine light came on. both time taken to dodge and they cant find anything wrong.do any of you guys have any ideas? thanks

 

Did they check it when the light was on? If it wasnt on when they checked it; they wont find anything. It could be a map sensor.

 

pull up the code yourself. anytime the engine light comes on, it stores a code even if the light goes out.

turn the key to on
then acc
then on
then acc
and then on do this real fast, like less than 3 seconds and a code will come up by the odometer

let me know what the code is.

 

the first time i was driving back from phoniex(i live in cal)and when i was just about at the dealer the light went off. the second time the engine light never came on. but if i was to pull out in front of traffic and it did that i would get hit, it cant be safe.anyways ive reported it to the service department and to dodge public relations so if it keeps happening maybe ill get a brand new car by lemon law.thanks for the replys i was just wondering if this type of thing has happend to anybody else

 

i did what you said to do and all that came up was six dashs ------(would the dealer be able to clear the code if they checked it?)

 

the codes were cleared out either by the dealer or a power loss to the computer. if the light does come back on, check the codes before you go to the dealer.
