Default New guy--new car--strip tips?

Hey all--

Newbie with a 'new' 05 R/T which I've had for 3 weeks now and am TOTALLY in love with. I got her with 5K on the odo for $23,500 so I think I got a good deal. I've had so much fun with this car and have gotten so many stares it's silly. Anyway, I will be taking it up to Union Grove within the next couple weeks and was just wondering if you guys who have run your cars have any tips for me. How do you launch? Any special shift tips? I saw C/D's long-term road test with an 05 in which they got a 14.4 brand new and then a 14.2 at 40K so I'm hoping for numbers close to that. We'll see but no matter what it will be fun. I want some baseline stock times before I start modding!

Thanks!!

Scott

Welcome from Easton PA. This is a smaller crowd than some forums. I'm sure your gonna enjoy your LX. They are great cars.

launch styles depend on the track. at route 66 in joliet, the track is like glue. i get 100% traction there. i launch from idle to wide open throttle with zero tire spin. stock times vary, depend on the density altitude of the day. average stock times are about 14.3 to 14.4. i ran 14.28 stock with a low DA at 1100' . slightly modified, i ran 13.91 with poor air and a DA of 2400' again, i never had a problem with traction.

Cool! Thanks for the tips! I was going to go last night but we had a rain-out at Union Grove. I'm hoping to be in the neighborhood
of the times you mentioned. As long as I'm faster than the Maxima I traded in........ 14.5, I'm pretty confident I can do better than
that! We'll see!

Thanks again!!
