manuel shifter, whats it for?
what do you guys use the manuel shifter for? i kinda use it to coast in 2nd then when someone tries to rev or swoop by me i gunit. it seems to have a **** load of ***** at that second, i hope its ok to use it that way.
It is made for that. I slap shift st times. If you want to make an impression for someone, it will sure do it. I am going to install a Flaspaq Tuner soon. The other members who have it say it really puts some ***** behind it! Some have said they even use it at times to slow down the car, not putting so much strain on the breaks. With the tuner you can increase the revs and shifting RPMs as well as a more firmer shift. I can't wait!
It's from SuperChips, it can be updated over your computer into the hand held so when the manufacture makes changes in the program, your car is up todate. I am doing some pricing. I have found them from $450 to $525. I found a local shop that will install it and test the car with the total price $479. Dodge sells them now, they want $499 here in Ocala, FL
Bought mine on ebay for $360 with free shipping. Heres the guys link to his profile/rating just visit his online store, I dont know if he has any left or not.

Installing is done yourself, its easy, all it is plugging into the port under your dash and follow the instruction book hitting buttons.

Sorry about that, I got lost in the moment! Jamie340 I was trying to say if you really want to get the most out of your transmission and shift firmness the SuperCHip is the best bet. The tuner can change shift points, firmness of the shift, and I believe I have read it can be used to program your car to manual shift. Anyone who has a SuperChip Tuner, correct me if I am wrong on this.

When I stomp on it and use the manual shifter, it shifts at the same point as in D.
It's the same as any other automatic as it doesn't shift instantly when manually shifting when stomping on it.
It saves space with a tighter configuration and provides ease of use but doesn't change the characteristics of the shifts when getting it on.
At least in mine it doesn't. It does add a lot of options including being able to be in any gear at any time and hot rodding around.

i think thats it, instead of stepping on it in low rpm at 3rd or 4th you smash on it at higher rpm and theres no delay in auto shifting, atleast thats the way i use it. i defenitly feel the difrence when i let it ride at a slight higher rpm and then slam on it other than having it in drive and waiting for it to drop a gear and go, by then the civic, eclips, lancer, ect are ahead. that gose for all those other v8 to manuel anyways
Yes, if you take it to a higher rpm than the shift point in D, it will shift instantly, just like any other automatic shifter.
I never had one but, I'm wondering, did the old Hurst dual gate shifters in the GTOs shift instantly at any RPM ?
