Default i have increased my City Mileage by 3 mpg..Interested?

OK, I thought this was weird at first when I was first told about it as well. Just hear me out. I am currently adding around 5 ounces of acetone (100% straight acetone can find at target/walmart) to my full tank of gas before i fill up. They guy that told me about this has increased his tank mileage (not a magnum) from 250 miles to 370 miles. I am on my third tank of gas now doing this and every time i do a new tank, my city mileage is going up. I have not had a chance to do high way yet. i am getting about 3 mpg more than before and am able to go a week on about little less than 3/4 tank vs more than a full tank before. here is the website

http://www.lubedev.com/smartgas/additive.htm:)

http://www.pureenergysystems.com/new...00069_Acetone/

It takes you through all the specifics and chemistry behind it. the second site is an abridged version of the first. basically it says to add 3ounces of 100% acetone for every 10 gallons in the tank. any thoughts? i have talked to some mechanics and they said it shouldn't harm the car in that low a dosage and since i am using 100% acetone i am not going to get water in the lines. i am willing to bet when i am done here i increase my highway by at least 5 miles per gallon when i can test it later this month on a long road trip.

I would be afraid to risk possible damage that would void any warranty coverage just to gain 3 mpg.
If the mpg concern is that great then get the 2.7 liter model.

Acetone is was one of the components of Octane Booster... in the old days anyway. it may affect todays rubber and gasket materials but it should work,,

Actually, the acetone you buy from the department store is diluted to about 10% max. That means you're putting in as much as 90% water in your system. Pure acetone can only be bought from a chemical distribution company.

Thanks Red Blood. I know it seems like onlylittle gains....finally got to take it on the long haul. i was getting close to 425-430 for my tank where before i was getting 380 or a little less before. Also my city keeps getting better. i am sure i am reaching my peak in gains so i will have to report my findings....also i will tryaround with the ounces to see if i get more with less. the chart says that i might be able to.
