Default Steering Vibration

We keep getting a vibration when turning the wheel, typically to the left. We haven't taken it in yet but will shortly.
Anyone else have steering vibrations?

No vibration, just the crown sensitivity reported in other threads.

Spread the word to all. Just about ALL the Magnums have a problem from the factory, much more noticeable if you resize the tires with wheels that have a little offset. THere is an alignment issue with the subframe and the camber on the front alignment. The dealerships should all have the correct alignment specs now (as of July 7) to make the necessary adjustments so you get 1)no pull to the right, 2)no vibration when steering left(this is the side that needs the camber set and subframe adjustment)

I had to take mine in 3 times before they finally got the correct specs from Hunter Alignment. That's the price you pay when you get a new design. Nobody has the info on these yet and it's sorta kit and miss right now.

After the alignmnet and subframe adjustment, my SXT runs straight as an arrow with virtually no road crowning follow. Take it to the delership and if they don't have the specs yet, have them call Allen Samuels Dodge in Houston, Texas for the specs.

I have the same problem at speeds above 45. Have appointment in the morning to have it serviced also pulls to the right. I will let you know how & if they correct the problem. I have two different specs for the RT.

I had my SXT back to the dealer twice for the alignment issue. Once before July 7 and once during/after the 7th. I no longer sense a significant pull to the right, but it still seems very sensitive to road crown, and I swear I am feeling more understeer now than before. How can I be certain they performed the "proper" fix vs. just monkeying around with it until they got it "close enough"? Unfortunately, I am not 100% convinced my front end is perfect.

By the way, what is the "subframe adjustment" about? My dealer said something about rocking the engine in the cradle and re-centering the steering wheel. I am afraid maybe they were attempting old-school ways of fixing the problem, unless you think this sounds like the subframe adjustment you mentioned in the post above. Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in getting with you but I have been out due to some emergency surgery. TOugh breaks for me since I don't get to drive right now DAMNIT! When I go back to the dealer, I will see if I can get detalied info for you. The thing about road crown is true but that is mostly due to the care havnig power assist rack & pinion steering. The car does have a little tendancy to understeer. What kind of thires/wheels are you running?

Stock wheels / tires. She'll be in for the 3,000 mile oil change soon so we'll have it looked at then.

I do notice a slight steering hesitation occasionally when I turn the steering when at a stop (which I don't do very often).
I also experience what feels like a slight tire out-of-round condition after the car has sat overnight. After a few highway miles, it goes away. FWIW, I have the self-sealing tires.

I am getting a vibration when turning the wheel 3/4 to a full turn. (U turns or backing out of stalls) Do you guys think it is the alignment issue we have been talking about? I am also getting a bit of shudder and bump steer. Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

A slight vibration at low speeds is most likely a power steering fluid issue. I just checked mine, and it's full, so it may just be the way the fluid is moving around in the rack, lines, etc. It's probably nothing to worry about and doesn't have anything to do with alignment (unless the alignment is seriously out of whack).
I've experienced a tiny bit of bumpsteer when hitting big bumps at freeway speeds, but it's nothing I'm concerning myself about. It's just a suspension geometry issue.
