Mine did this. It pays to have a father that's an auto mechanic. He came over and we disassembled the shifter, found that a little plastic clip had broken off and when you pressed the brake it moved a rod to allow the shifter out of park, well the clip help the rod in place, so the rod was moving, but the lock on the shifter wasn't. We wired it up with some safety wire and tada, been working for a year or more.
