An end to the Whipple Supercharger debate?
I've been pimping every aftermarket manufacturer for information on performance mods for the Magnum R/T. As a part of this effort, I e-mailed both Whipple sales and product development re: a supercharger and flash programmer. Here is the "official" response:
Nick,
I'm sorry, but we do not have any plans to develop a system for the new Hemi motor. We did build a custom prototype system for Chrysler for a concept vehicle, but we are not going any further with that system.
Thank you for your interest,
Shonda
Oh well. Here's hoping Kenne Bell comes out with one soon...

I know they made a one off unit and didn't save the casting? Yeah right.
The only reason for them to say that is they were under contract not to use it. Meaning they got paid out the nose for it. I doubt they had any capacity for a programmer.
Oh well, their mistake for signing such an agreement assuming that they did.

I thought it sounded a bit fishy too but, as you said, it will ultimately be to their disadvantage. As to their capacity for a programmer, the do make one and it is a very good one (I have a friend who bought one for his H2 and it did wonders for it). Check it out here:

Well let's just say I had a hack take a look at the computer, and it's appear to be a PITA. That isn't going to deter me.
As far as I know the only things Whipple reprograms are trucks. And GM's OBDII code isn't as difficult as some would say. Now Caddy OBDII is a little different. I've dealt with new cars and the hardest part is always the programming.
However, I have a guy that is very interested in working on a Magnum for boost. He has a lot on his plate right now, but as that gets eaten up, then he'll be taking a long hard look at boosting the Magnum, so long as someone doesn't beat him to it.

The SC option is not as far off as you may think.
Just get a car in the Fresno California area who wants a kit and wala it will happen.
To adapt the unit would require serious computer work but the rest is actually very basic.
The computer work offered by whipple is a good option for there kits ..but it is far from the leading edge of the technology involved.
