Default Shift handle removal?

Does anyone know how to remove the stock shift handle for the Magnum R/T? I was also wondering if it threads on or has some other type of system to hold it in place. Any help would be most appreciated.

For anyone interested in dumping the stock shifter **** in favor of something more exotic, the thread size is 8mm.

If you want to dump the standard shifter, try this site for some neat alternatives! Don't know if they'll fit, but...

If you look under the stereo install link, you will see the lighted skull shifter I have put on. The skinny shifter shaft makes it look hookey(sp). I had to use double sided carpet tape to enlarge the diameter of the shaft to use with the smallest shaft adapter of the kit. Was thinking of putting a sleeve over the shaft to get it to look better, but then where it enters the console would look like crap too. I started the skull motivewhen my g/f 14 year old kid said the magnum looks like a space age hearst. When I get some cash going to do the dual stripes with skulls phantomed into the paint. www.members.***.net/david.a.heath
