Hemi RT.. its illegal to tint the driver and passenger front windows and the windshield (although i think you can have up to 6 inches on the top tinted) in Illinois. I've had buddies here get tickets for it and once had to roll up the windows in my car in order to "prove" i didnt have tint on them.

I used to live in Illinois and I had the front windows om my 96' Impala SS tinted and I was legal. I got a medical excuse from my doctor, contacted secretary of state, who put me in contact with the state police. They put a notation on my car plate record that it was okay for my front windows to be tinted.

I had a medical conditional caused by medications that made my skin react to direct sunlight.

Now I live in Florida where it is legal to have your front windows tinted.

You can get around the laws, you just have to know how to do it.

Heres my Midnight Blue RT with a 20% tint on the front windows... IMHO, it makes a huge difference!

Ever notice on the TV ads for the Magnum that not only are the front windows tinted, but so is the whole windshield?

Of course it makes the car look better, that is why they do it.

Hey Mike! Here's another SXT for ya'! I have a silver one as well, 20" Ice Metal rims, Katzkin interior, probably the only SXT in existance at this point with dual exhaust, and last but not least, a DVD system with surround sound. My front windows are done with Solar Guard, meets the Texas requirement, and is a near perfect match for the factory windows. Highly recommend this brand tint for it's UV and heat rejection.

Hello all,

The day my car gets here i plan to tint the front two window with 15%, and have 35% placed over all rear windows excluding the rear. that is the only way!!! I know some people who have their fronts done on their trucks, it looks good, but vision is poor. Maryland police are starting to crack down on that.

 

I know a place in Burbank where I get all my tint jobs there, and they do tint the windshield for $100, it's illigal, but they used clear tint that is rated at 50% and is clear, not smoked, I saw the owner's car with the 50% clear tint on his windshield and I didn't even notice it was tinted, great job, and it protects the interior from UV rays.
For you guys that want to do that, I suggest you look arount for a tint shop that carries the 2 types of tint films (smoked and clear) and then tint the windshield with 50% clear and nobody will know it's there.
