Default Front Window Tint

Has anyone tinted the front windows to make them dark like the rear windows?

Here in Florida we can tint pretty dark with no problems from the police, back in Illinois I had to get special permission (medical) to be legal.

I would like to tint the fronts to match the rest of the car.

Has anyone put a tint strip on the front windshield?

Thanks,

Bob

I am using a 20% tint that is a good match for the rears. You can see pictures here.

Although I live in California, I have been thinking about adding tint to
my Inferno Red Magnum.....I have to say Nick's car looks real good
with the fronts tinted. I'm still not sure how much attention I will get
from the local law enforcement.

For Bob....I did run across a page that addresses a question regarding
Florida....not sure if you have seen this one.

Legal limit here in Texas is 35% so that's all I have on there. It's not a match for the rears, but with the dark interior and the rest of the windows being dark it looks pretty good.

If I ever get stopped in Florida, first thing I do is lower the windows on the cops side.
Having worked in law enforcement, I know the cops are cautious walking up to a car.

I was only pulled over once here, had a burned out headlight.

Yes, I did a 35% tint on the front, now it matches the back perfectly. It looks so damn good, I highly recommend it. I will try to take some pictures later and post them.

Has anyone EVER tinted a winshield...full winshield not just the strip at the top? I would like to try a minimum tint on there. Also what brand or place did you get your tint done? I am in Chicago and have never got windows done and want to get a good place. Black windows not grey and not purple.

Thanks

That's illegal in most states.

In texas the tint can not go past that little certification mark on the sides of the windshield.

I have a Concealed Handgun License, so if I get pulled over (which I haven't in several years... well in a car at least) I turn off the car, roll down all the windows, turn on the interior lights (if it's night), and keep my hands on the steering wheel. Really helps a cop feel safer when he can see in at you since the tint on this car and my past cars has been so dark.

[8D]Not sure why you would want to tint the windshield. Seems to me that would make harder to see at night.

Don't want to tint the whole windshield (illegal), just the top of the windshield, about 3-4 inches at the top.
