The grill is a E&G Stainless steel mesh grill that I had powder coated black, the botton section contains the same black mesh grill, had the body shop remove the center section and re-inforce it.

 

What does cost to have a grill powder coated?

 

I think it was $40 or so.

I like the side pipes. Would like to add a set to my Magnum R/T. Were they difficult to install and are they hooked up to the exhaust or just for show? Also what length are they and where can they be purchased?

Believe it or not the only place I could find any that were 3" or 3 1/2" was thru J.C. Whitney. They are functional pipes with a chambered muffler built in the tube. The collectors at the front are fake with only one open to connect to your front downpipes. Any muffler shop can make an elbow to make them funtional. They go onto the body/frame with 2 large ' L ' brackets. What i did was to cut them off though and weld the 2" long flat part to the body floor against the lip below the rockers. Then it only took a bolt at each end to fasten the pipes to the car. Since I drive mine year around, mine are for show only though so I can just take off 4 nuts and put them in winter storage. The best part is there tripple chrome plated and cost me $225.00 delivered for the pair with hardware.
They dont rattle and look very 'muscle car' to me and I get lots of comments on them. The only downside is you do have to watch speed bumps....mine barely scrapes on some of the higher ones. If you have them forget lowering unless you mount them extended farther out from the sides so they can go a little higher. I thin mine slung under gives it a lowered look although it sets at stock height.

 

just to let you guys know there is going to be a kick *** chip foose custom supercharger hemi magnum at sema in november... its well worth a look
