Transmission problem
I faced a couple times a LIMP MODE on my RT, went to a dealer wait for four days and got my car back with the same problem. I was told, that they found a bug in my system and reload all computers ???. But I thing it is a some mechanical problems - when it is finally shifting normally ( after stop and start an engine again) it is like a road bump, when it is switching gears. And one more strange thing - it is appears when my car a stayng overnight in my garage during a first driving cycle, but any way if it is normal it is still "road bump". Going back to my dealer on Monday again.
Did somebody have any ideas?

Isn't the Magnum's tranny of the MB variety? Strange to hear about these tranmission woes. I would think there would have been enough R&D by the Germans.
Eerily reminiscent to the Acura TL-S tranny problems. What a nightmare those things were.
GOOD LUCK!!!

I think this is one reason why they stuck with the classic 4-speed in the SXT and SE model, they didn't want all these new systems out there at once. Of course, there are going to be some problems sometimes. Only the people at DCX know for sure if there's a major problem with the R/T trans, or of course if you have enough people with the same problem coming to these boards (as with the right-pull issue).
rogersbw, i mean "new" trans as in the application of it to a Dodge with a HEMI. Maybe the factory is not as good at putting them in the car vs. Mercedes? Dunno for sure, but even if it's not technically a new design, the whole application, electronics, and factory variables can have an effect. I can't imagine MB had this trans hooked up to something like a HEMI in their model lineup, but correct me if I'm wrong. Do the AMG versions of MB use this same trans? If so, then I guess it can handle the pressure.

The 4matic system in the AWD hemi sits behind some good sized benzes...i wouldnt think DC would have selected them if they couldnt handle the stock power output of the motor....modifications are another story
Tell your dealer to flash the transmission control module with his STAR-Scan tool. There is a TSB out for that.
If it does not solve the problem I'd start pushing for a complete transmission replacement. You should not have to tolerate 10 days in the shop for this type of problem. Tell him to either buy the car back or get a new tranny in there NOW.
