Default NO MORE Inferno Red

I heard that Chrysler switched Paint Compnays and there will be no more Inferno Red the new color will be "Blaze Red" similar to the dark red Crossfire. That sucks I think the Bright Red on the Viper and SRT-10 should be a special order if that's the case.[:'(]

I reaqd on an employee site that the rumor about the end of inferno red are unfounded. The truth is that they are changing paint vendors from PPG to Dupont. The color itself is not changing.

Have you seen the Blaze Red? I have pictures of both and its really hard to tell the difference with Inferno Red Tinted Pearl.

I really liked the Inferno. I hope this "new color" is the same. I thiught the crossfire's color "blaze" was a little more "red wine"ish. You say it is the same or very very close??? Did you also read on that forum that some employee saw a charger going down the line??

The inferno red is gone. The old inferno red used a tinted clear coat. The new does not. The factory workers say it doesn't have that deep look that the old Inferno red had. The new red has the same color code as the Blaze red the Crossfires come in. PRH I believe is the code.

Hmmm, if they aren't making RED ones for a bit - maybe they'll build my BLACK one!

Geez, this waiting is killing me!

I talked to DC customer service yesterday and asked about delays of red RT's, they told me that there is no hold up on red in particular, just more orders for Magnum RT's than they can handle and that I'm just "waiting my turn". You get so much conflicting information depending on who you talk to that I don't really know what to believe. I've seen factory workers post that plenty of red magnums are going down the line, and others say that there is a holdup on red. Supposedly, my order is fully approved with all parts allocated and nothing holding it up...except that they didn't build it yet. I ordered 10 weeks ago today.

I know that the NAV unit is on backorder with Alpine until October. That is the hold up on my RT ordered on 7/10.

Inferno (Blaze Red) is on restriction with no date as of yet for production. The mirrors are painted by the vendor and are a different color than the new paint (clear coat was change from tinted to clear), they will have to be redone. I am thinking of calling my dealer and changing the color on my order to Midnight Blue Pearl it's been on order from 8-20-04
Check here for other restrictions http://www.arifleet.com/production.html
