Default Guage Lighting.

I love my new RT but.........................Can anyone think of a way I can dim the lighting in the guages while keeping all of accessory lights pretty bright? When I set the intensity where the accessory lights look good the guage lights are toooo bright for me! Any help? Thanks alot!

I don't see a way that you can do what you want to do, not without a lot of work and hassle.

Put window tint over the gauges?

could see if there is a lower wattage bulb that would fit in the same socket, or LED if that's what they use, haven't checked so don't know which off hand it uses.

could also see if you can find something semi transparent that can handle any heat the bulb may put out and put it over the bulb to limit some of the light coming thru.

yet another option is find the wire for the dimmer going to the gauges (assuming they aren't on the data bus they use in the magnums and 300's) and put a low ohm resistor or a potentiometer inline with it, the resistor would simply make it consistently dimmer than the rest of light based the the ohm resistor you use, the potentiometer would let you adjust so you can get it exactly how you want it.

Are there aftermarket gauge faces for the magnum yet?

IF you can identify the power line to the gauge lighting, it would be possible to wire in a separate resistor to allow for dimming.

It's all PWM LED's.
There is no jacking with the circuits.
Won't work.
