This is a picture of a car my dadonce had... trying to find what it can be exactly. I have some clues but would like to hear your ideas first.

looks like a mid to late '70's based on the padded steering wheel, possible a Coronet/polara/monaco???

 

From stories my dad told me, it could be a police package Dodge. What leads me to believe that could be it, is the lack of stereo on the right.

Not a Police Package car, Police Package would have a "certified" speedometer. Could be a Royal Monaco...

 

what would be a certified speedo? How would you recognize that?

 

A certified speedometer says right on it's face that it is certified which is a police car thing.

 

I just found this picture in his stuff. I believe this is a Dodge Polara. What do you think? 1973 or 1974?

Police Package.???.. the wheels tell me it can be and the lack of chrome trim on the side. Could the speedo be from this car? the antenna seems to be larger at the base like a CB antenna from a police car, what do you all think?

if it's a polara, and if it is a police package. What engine would be in it? Which one could go at 125mph+ like the speedo is showing?

I remember my dad used to talk about this police car he had, quite slow off the line but as it build speed it was very very fast.

 

Most of the Mopar police cars throughout the 70's had the 440 while most of the others had the 400.

 

That car in the pic is a '73 Polara. Most of the police spec cars then were still running the 440s.

 

Police spec cars ran the 440 thru 78 in the Royal Monaco. Do yoiu have any pics of the interior light? Police spec will have a large round ( about 6" diameter) light right above the rear view mirror.
