Default Putting Headers On 79 Dodge Magnum

I'm putting Headers on a 79 magnum, I was told headman does not fit well on late model b bodys, It may require some mods to fit around the gear box next to the block on the drivers side. Has anyone done this before? Let me know

Try Hookers web site for a listing. Not sure about the headmans.
I myself have had a set of Hooker super comp. headers on the small block on my '79 magnum. The fit is what you should expect. No dinging, denting, tweaking, no nothing. Just install them and go.

I would caution you on the super comps price and performance level intended though. At $300 (or so) uncoated, these headers are for the "Street/Strip" or race car.

The main problem with the headers is, most companys do not make a S/B header that works on the later "B" body cars with the ISO mount bushings. These are the buscuits that seperate the K-frame for ride quality. It changes the exact location of the K-frame slightly downward as compared to the older direct mount to the subframe, K-frames.

Theres another newbie here, "Magnum Guy" that is very very up on these cars in what works and don't.

I have put Headman headers on many Cordobas wich is the same car as the Magnum. On a big block they can be a pain. But they did not require any tweaking to get them to fit. If they go on a big block then they should slide right on a small block since you have way more room. The only prob that I can think of that you may have is with the oil filter. You may have to install a 90degree adapter to get the filter out of the way of the headers. Hwystar

I went with hedman headers, I had to run the drag ling through the drivers side header and I relocated the oil filter to the fire wall besides that it was all cake.
My buddy has these same headers on his 79 diplomat two door and can get his oil filter off without removing the passenger side header so I just moved it to avoid any problems.
New intake, new carb, headers and The car still won't get out of it's own way[:@], 408 stroker time?
na, it's a cruiser

You know, you can get a BB in there though. Takes a little handy torchwork.
