Ghost flames?
My dad is seriously considering putting ghost flames on the front of his '69 Charger, just thought I'd see what everyone thinks about it, get some opinions and all. Here is a picture of it in it's current show winning shape:

The car is a great blue and looks awsome. There is no stripeing or anything else that would make it look cluttered so I think a nice silver ghost flame would look good. Something to this effect:

Those masked flames will be perfect.
I'm thinking of putting the ones above on my Dakota!
If your Dads really exicted about this think of it this way.....
It looks like it's been repainted before, it that correct?
I was just woundering how orginal the car is... I can see the rims and I am assuming the paint, what about the interior or engine?
I ask because if it isn't close enough to go all original then the car should make a statement about yourself. I tried to go all original with mine but after 10 years I'm going to have a custom interior put in cause the engine, paint and options on the VIN don't match.
So I'll just make everthing the way I feel like it flows with the car..... hopefully it doesn't get to gaudy![sm=icon_blah.gif]
I say go for the flames[sm=wootwoot.gif]

I'm with asp on this one..... subtle is the way to go on a car that looks as good as this one does!

That is exactly the way they're gonna be, you won't even know they are there until the light hits them just right or your right on top of it. The car is close to 100% stock on the interior with only a 3 gauge cluster around the steering wheel shaft and 5" tach being anything that isn't stock. The body is stock, but the frame has been tied, front brakes swaped to discs, it's wearing Viper blue paint and the engine is far from stock. The #'s matching motor is a 383 2bbl, but it currently has a 500+ horsepower 440 in it backed with a street/strip built tranny. The wheel/tire combo is also obviously far from stock with 15 X 10 Centerline Convo Pros in the rear wearing BFG drag radials in 325/50/15 and 15 X 7 Centerline Convo Pros up front wearing stock size BFG's.
He has been talking of the ghost flames for quite some time as well as possibly putting a stripe around the rear like the R/T's have on some. He is still undecided on both, but he has had the flames taped (outlined) on to get a visual and I think he will get them done. He is also getting the body work done to his '68 Coronet R/T, it will be done completely stock with a correct 440 and 4-spd. as well as the correct red paint.
