Dodge Muscle Cars When it was all about noise and big (and bigger) engines, Dodge and Plymouth ruled the roads. Discuss the Muscle cars that once were within.

Hi all, I just joined and have been reading and looking at all the nice pics on here..man some nice rides forsure!

The reason I am posting here {besides saying hi} is to get some opinions on my car. I have no pics just yet but I will forsure. I am currently fixing up a 1968 Newport It's swampthing green and has a 383 under the hood that purrrrs real nice. It runs clean and sounds great, I had the back seats redone with original 68 covers (not cheap!) lol.

Anyway, I was thinking I might sell it and would like to know what a good fair price is. It is asoft top 2 doorwith power everything.

Any answers would be nice.

Welcome to Dodge Forums!! LOL "Swampthing green"... that was funny, made me laugh out loud.

Anyway, it sound like it's mint... or very close. If I were you, I wouldn't sell it... it's a fabulous thing to have, especially in like new condition.

Have you put a lot into it? I don't want to spout off a number and you say, we'll I put that into it... LOL! But if it's as clean and mint as you say... find the right buyer looking for that car, and I think you'll make out like a bandit with it.

Thanks for the nice welcome.

When I first bought the car off my friend I was gonna fix it and sell it and get a little junker just to bob around in, but then I started asking around and found that are only a few ppl that know the car and they where impressed that I had one, further more, since I have had it (7 months or so) I've only seen one other like it. One on line and one parked in the parking lot down town. ( but it wasn't swampthing green!) LOL I think I will keep it and do what I can do for the car. I'm not a real gear head, I just tinker with the easy stuff lol.

I think it's a treasure, they are rare enough... I've seen plenty used as demolition derby cars (sad demise for such a great car...) Definately let us know what happens with it... and take some pictures.

just a little selling tip: if you sell it, use a clay bar on it first...that will get some extra luster out of the paint and you could get a little more for it then!!

The 400 is not an original motor for a '68. The 400 didn't come around until 1972, it was the replacement for the 383.[sm=smiley23.gif]

Skittle, your best bet at figuring out the value of it would be getting an old/classic car price guide, I see them all the time at Kroger, Walden Books and Media Play. You can also check the Muscle, Classic & Sports Car Trader.[sm=smiley2.gif]
