You can still find decent deals on Darts and Dusters. They make excellent drag race cars and have enough room for a big block. Shaumacher makes a whole line of small block to big block conversion kits. What part of the country are you in? That makes a difference on what is available and what they cost.

man all the mopar muscle cars look good! lol

like BIG ASP said, you can still find decent prices on darts and dusters and they look mean too, and they would be pretty quick with a 440 because there smaller

I've seen one in a '72 Colt burning Alcohol and turning off 9.5sec runs like nobody's business. So, yeah, put it in anything. I'd like to drop one in a little Dakota some day.

It all depends on what you intend to do with it. If your going to cruise it around and possibly take it to the track, then any B or E body would be best as the 440 drops right in and they are the best looking. If you want to race it alot, then the A bodies are best since they are the lightest and fit the 440 with minimal work. If you want the best of both worlds then the E body would be best as it is between the B and A bodys in weight and look great, but they are among the most expensive to buy.

My Belvedere was only about 3,300 lbs. w/o driver. E bodies, especially with the Hemi packages (heavy duty suspension, Dana, etc.), were heavier by several hundred pounds. Several versions of A bodies came with factory big blocks such as late 60s Barracudas and Darts. Mr. Norm also stuffed a few A bodies with big blocks. Actually he did it first and showed mother Mopar that it could be done and then the factory made them available too.

it's nice to have that 440 c.i if you decide to go with headers, take a look here you may want to think twice. I didn't instal them, BUT THERE IS 1/4 inch space between the inner fender and the header, and forget about taking out the spark plugs, you have to get under the car and use a snubby, after you snake your arm in there..
